Sharing quotes
Short quotes shared briefly with credit to the author are welcome — that is what the copy button and card generator are for. Please always name the author and never present someone else's words as your own.
Don't take the room
No scraping, bulk copying, mirroring, or automated extraction of the collection, and no hotlinking armies of card images. Personal, non-commercial viewing and sharing of individual lines is the grant; anything systematic needs written permission — ask at shelf@quotegist.com .
Nominations
By nominating a line, you grant Quote Gist a perpetual, worldwide license to publish it (with your name on the label, or anonymously if you prefer), lightly edit it for clarity, and write a plain-English meaning for it. Confirm you have the right to share it — your own words, or a brief fairly-used quotation with a source. We may decline anything, without explanation.
Accuracy limits
Attributions and plain-English meanings are offered in good faith but without warranty — verify anything important against primary sources. Meanings are interpretations, not professional, legal, or medical advice.
